In Memory of Little Bear

Dear friends and family,
I'm participating in life again. I've had a difficult time of sadness and sorrow to feel thru, as my precious little dog left this life to rejoin his Creator.
Little Bear was my lifesaving companion and beloved friend for the last 17 years. It was the end of an era, so to speak. I buried him in my rose garden and have had to grieve. He was a little black Peek-a-Poo, fur ball of Love and more Love...  I would have cloned him, if I could.
It's hard, but he is at peace now and I am too. Warm hugs to all of you who have comforted me. Bless you.

Taken back in time

Oh yay, oh yea, it's a Happy  day~~
I Found my Artist's Way Book!! circa.. 1992!  Been digging thru stuff like crazy. Amazing too that in '93
I had gotten all the way thru.... chapter One.   ha ^!^
Soooo, what perfect timing-
I’m restarting my journey thru the book again! over at Effy’s site- Would Love for you to join me there.  Check it out at http://wildprecious.ning.com/group/theartistsway
But all the notes and lists and margin ideas/insights I saw that I'd put down then.  Whew, talk about being transported back in time. Its like being grabbed by my inner child that was hurting so badly.
I was lost then amid my grief - sudden death of my Dad, followed up by sudden divorce. ( wow-'sudden divorce', that should be a dictionary word in itself!). What a blur- kinda spooky being rocked with the memory of my former self- wasn't expecting that this morning........
Oh, but forgot the best part- truly.  I had 2 precious baby boys, Tyler-then 2 yo and Nicky, 4 months.  What I thought was the absolute worst thing that could happen to them (and me), evolved into a life full of joy and love beyond belief.  God had such good things in store for us!!!

My Owl… so much Fun!

Hi All~
Another art journal page posted- in spite of myself.  I’m still feeling very anxious and insecure about what you ‘other people out there’ will think.  It’s not completed yet, like so many of them, but it’s out there now at least.
However…
I’ve recently joined a wonderful community of empowering, spiritually creative women at the
Wild. Precious Studio.   A divine intervention for me, as I have been seeking just this sort of uplifting, comfort connection lately.
My own spiritual, emotional and personal recovery is on solid ground these days, but the fearful, insecure artist-child within has been screaming for awhile to get out.
I’ve always had a journal of some kind- but only in the last year did I start My Art Journal.  I say that feeling somewhat found-out now.  And, if you noticed, I also said I started it last year.  Well actually, it was over a year ago.
I’ve been practicing!  ha ha
I also started My Blog at the same time.  I haven’t been practicing that either.  I tend to start a lot of things with good intentions, but never follow up or follow thru, for that matter.  Anyone relate??
So, with another year here and with no excuses left, I’ve decided to start in earnest… again.  Hopefully with a support system behind me this time to keep me accountable.
I’ll try to do my part.
I’ll take all the help I can get.

Wonderland Lost

ART JOURNAL 2011_Wonderland Lost_web

This is hard for me, but I’m pushing myself out there anyway. I’m posting my latest Journal page, mainly because I like it so much.  Well, I like it today.
Not so last week.

I wish I had remembered to take photos of the various stages that this went through- It was a telling sign of my lurking depression and mental outlook over the last few weeks… Not good at all.

Too many changes and disappointments.  I got overwhelmed and went to a very negative, critical place.
I also slept… a lot.

But each day, I put a little more down on the page and got whatever it was- out of me.  I started thinking about how I wanted it to be laid out, fixed.  Then, each night I changed something a little. Covered this, added that.
Each time it transformed into the newer mindset I was in.

Funny how the whole page transformed in front of my eyes and seemed to pull me thru to a brighter place.

~Too much black and blue and purple –as if…! (bruised in spirit only tho’).  Had to add some pink- my favorite color….
~Too disconnected…. had to add some doodles and swirls and brighter whites- to pull her together more and connect the pieces together-(ah ha! again!)

By the weekend, I had found some reprieve from work, my overly needy loved ones found other outlets!  I did some laundry (monotonous and soothing somehow) and started feeling a little more like joining the world again.

What I was craving was uninterrupted time to myself-
to paint and play, to read and journal, meditate, pray and get my mind and thoughts sorted out.  Really, no kidding??

I Know I Need those things to keep me sane. ALL of them.
But, But…
somehow I can quickly let it all go to the wayside and before I know it, BOOM, I end up bummed and depressed and obsessing about stuff again.

Lesson learned:
I will pay more attention to my own needs.
I will pay more attention to my art.
It speaks loudly and will help me if I listen.

Thanks ya’ll for letting me share.
